Adults only for guaranteed rest

April 24, 2020
There is a clear trend developing within the travel industry: an increasing number of people are wanting a destination where there are no children. No screaming around the pool, no tearing through the restaurant. Adults-only hotels are now more popular than ever!

For whom?

Most people go on holiday for a rest. They want to relax, reconnect with themselves. An adults-only resort guarantees the peace and quiet that can’t be had at a family resort where families with kids are staying. Hence the increase in demand for adults-only destinations. Where is this new demand coming from? From young couples without children, and older couples who no longer holiday with their brood. But they aren’t the only ones: parents with (young) children looking for a week’s respite are also going adults-only.

‘Child-free’ flights

If you’ve booked to stay in an adults-only resort, the last thing you’re going to want is crying kids on the plane. In addition to adults-only hotels, a number of airlines are now offering ‘child-free’ zones on their flights. For an additional fee, you’re guaranteed to have no children sitting in the row before and the row behind you. Scoot Airline (Singapore) and Air Asia X are the trendsetters. We anticipate many more airlines to follow suit!
