Why you’ll love it...
F. X. Mayr programmes are the speciality of OCÉANO Health Spa Hotel. With the Atlantic Ocean on the doorstep, this is also the place to head to for other OCÉANO Health Spa programmes. Whatever you choose, you'll experience the personal and friendly atmosphere at the OCÉANO, which has been run by the same family for 50 years now.
Wellness, Spa and Health
OCÉANO Hotel Health Spa specialises in F. X. Mayr. This considers thorough cleansing of the digestive tract the key to good health. This specific, holistic form of detoxing takes place under supervision of a doctor in the clinic next to the hotel. You can head to the spa for Ayurveda, beauty treatments and massages. Furthermore, a thalasso centre with thalasso therapy pool opened there in 2012. Here, you can recharge your batteries with the healing properties of the ocean. There is also a Finnish sauna, bio-sauna and infrared sauna, Turkish steam room, whirlpool, numerous yoga studios and a gym (approx. 20m2). Take a swim in the private salt-water pool heated to 25-26 degrees, or in the pool built in the ocean; take a dip in there without having to tackle waves or tides.
Holistic Activities and Sports
- There is a weekly activity programme (an additional fee applies for some activities)
- Yoga can be practiced on an individual or group basis. Workshops and special yoga weeks are also organised sometimes
- There is a tennis court by the hotel. Lessons can be arranged

What’s on the Menu
There is a special restaurant for guests on the F. X. Mayr programme who are following a diet. Other guests can head to the restaurant serving regular meals and Vitality Thalasso Cuisine. Here, the chef selects ingredients personally, including the fresh fish and locally grown vegetables used to prepare tasty meat, chicken or fish dishes, as well as salads and light snacks at lunch. Surprisingly creative vegetarian options are also available. Breakfast offers you the chance to sample some local delicacies including tropical fruits and goat’s milk products. Both restaurants have a bar and a lounge. Looking to change your eating habits? The doctors at OCÉANO are dieticians and will gladly give you individual advice.
We love
- The mild Atlantic climate that makes Tenerife a suitable summer and winter destination.
- The thalasso balance menu 'Vitality Thalasso Cuisine'. Light, healthy meals with fresh fish and seafood – can you think of a more delicious way!
- The Dr. Mayr detox treatments are gaining popularity: an intensive cleaning of your intestines.
- Swimming in the pool created in the ocean: right in front of the door you swim in the sea without having to suffer from waves or currents.
Good to know
OCÉANO Hotel Health Spa has traditionally been popular among German wellness guests. However, other nationalities are visiting more and more.
End of July the traditional Fiesta del Carmen takes place in Punta del Hidalgo for 2 weeks. During those Fiestas, the natives pay homage for their patron Saint of Fishermen. Even today, the event will be used to celebrate in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Visitors at this traditional Spanish spectacle are welcome! Please expect more noise during the day and evening at this time.
