Where you are going...

You'll be staying right on the beach at Ayurvie Weligama - Ayurvedic Retreat (part of the Thema Collection). The resort is just a five-minute drive from Weligama Bay, a picturesque fishing village popular among surfers and whale watchers. The beach is renowned as one of the best in Sri Lanka. The historic city of Galle is a 45-minute drive away and makes for a lovely day trip. Ayurvie has a sister hotel in the magical Sigiriya where you could also choose to stay for part of your journey.

There's an outdoor swimming pool, a serene garden for reflection, and a restaurant serving nutritious Ayurvedic cuisine.

Wellness, Spa and Health

At Ayurvie, you'll pamper and rejuvenate yourself with a variety of Panchakarma and Ayurveda treatments, yoga, and pranayama (breathing) sessions. Nourish your body with healthy vegetarian menus and herbal elixirs tailored to your dosha type (personality and body type).

As part of your program, you'll also delve into Sri Lankan history and culture. Engage in conversations or meditate with the head monk of the Bimbarama temple; learn traditional cooking techniques for Sattvic meals; visit a preschool and computer center partially funded by Ayurvie, or explore the best-preserved sea fort in Southeast Asia (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).

There's a triangular infinity pool overlooking Weligama Bay and direct beach access. Additionally, a lovely yoga shala is available for group sessions in the morning and evening.

What’s on the Menu

At Ayurvie, all your meals are served at restaurant Aahara. The vegetarian Ayurvedic meals, snacks, water, fresh juices, and herbal teas are all included. The kitchen utilizes fresh local produce and cooks according to dosha types. They take a highly personalized approach, tailoring your meals based on the personal advice from your Ayurvedic doctors. Alcoholic beverages, meat, and soft drinks are not available as they do not align with an Ayurvedic diet.

Aahara is open daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM and is located opposite the infinity pool with views of swaying palm trees and the Indian Ocean.

Arishta Juice Bar is open all day. Enjoy various types of herbal teas and elixirs made from different roots and herbs that restore balance to the doshas.

Rooms

Ayurvie's 26 rooms range from deluxe to garden lofts and master suites. In accordance with your dosha type—Vata, Pitta, or Kapha—you can select a room in a color of your choice. Televisions are not provided. The rooms feature private bathrooms, air conditioning, a hairdryer, and a safe. Filtered water for drinking and a kettle are provided in the rooms. Additionally, a bathrobe, slippers, and a yoga mat are available for your use. Mosquito nets are available upon request.

Please note that deluxe rooms do not have wifi in the room, while garden lofts and suites do offer wifi in the room.
