Why you’ll love it...
Luxury and synchronicity with nature go hand-in-hand at this top resort. Everything is perfect: from the impeccable service from the ever-friendly staff and the centuries old Chinese, Malaysian and Indian health rituals to the unique architecture. The resort's commitment to respecting nature is evident in every detail. The wooden buildings blend into the centuries-old trees in the rainforest. At Pangkor Laut, life is carefree and barefoot, but stylish.

What’s on the Menu
Asian cuisine is light, delicious and healthy. Good food is guaranteed here. Uncle Lim’s Kitchen is the place to go for Asian food at its best. Situated on a rock, from the restaurant you look out over the sea. Head chef and local celebrity, Uncle Lim is the resort’s longest serving member of staff and has been in charge of the kitchen here since its opening. At the Fisherman’s Cove, you’ll enjoy a unique combination of western grill specialities, Italian food and fresh fish. An open kitchen, sea view and an adults-only policy guarantee a relaxing dining experience. Tasteful restaurant, The Straits is located just above the beach on the rocks, and serves the best dishes from South-East Asia. Wooden screens make for a private setting in which you can enjoy the best south-Asian specialities based on your personal preferences. We do recommend booking a table in advance at the above-mentioned restaurants. Booking is required a minimum 24 hours in advance at The Straits, which allows time for the fresh ingredients for your personal dishes to be procured from the market. A comprehensive and varied breakfast can be taken at the Feast Village, where everything is prepared fresh in situ. In the evenings, this restaurant serves aromatic Malaysian specialities. To enjoy a delicious Asian or Western lunch or an elegant cocktail, go to the Royal Bay Beach Club or – our favourite – Chapman’s bar on the Emerald Bay beach. It is also possible to request a private dinner on the beach, your balcony or in another lovely setting.
We love
- The chef kitchen experience: prepare world cuisine together with the chef. That’s after having been to the local fishermen, markets, noodle maker and floating fish farm to collect fresh ingredients. A fantastic day with a tasty conclusion.
- The island inhabitants. Don’t be surprised if you come across macaques, tropical birds, bald eagles and sunbathing lizards on a walk.
- The yoga- and tai chi classes on the Sri Lagenda deck. The fresh sea breeze and the rustling of the glistening sea make for optimal relaxation.
Good to know
- The dress code for The Fisherman’s Cove and The Straits is trousers for men and smart casual for ladies
- Don’t feel like walking? Shuttle busses will deliver you to the other side of the island in just ten minutes.
