Abhyangam massage

Aufguss

The term comes from the German, literally means pouring. During an Aufguss water together with an essential oil will be cast on a hot sauna heater. Beforehand it will be explained which scent is going to be used and what its effect is. After priming the sauna, the employee flutters the hot vapor (with the scent) through the air with a towel. The idea is that you sweat more and using the scents the effect is even more relaxing. Mostly stimulating, harmonizing and soothing scents, such as peppermint, orange, jasmine, lavender and wood scents are used. This method is not only meant to create more variety and fun in the sauna, but also to relax you to your full potential.

Deep Muscle Relaxation (Jacobson-technique)

A stress and anxiety management technique developed by Chicago physician Edmund Jacobson in the 1920s. Jacobson theorized that anxiety and stress lead to muscle tension, which, in turn, increases feelings of anxiety. This is the part of a revitalizing ceremony. Partners can rub each other with mud. A pleasant heat of about 45° C dries the mud and the effect can spread deep into your skin. The body itself detoxified. After 10 minutes, a hot steam flows with soft herbal scents into the room. The mud on the body softens again and it will be washed away. Shiatsu

Japanese for finger pressure. Japanese massage technique in which the therapist applies pressure to specific points on the body to simulate and unblock meridians (pathways through which energy is said to flow). Similar to acupressure, but involves active and passive exercises and stretching, and the therapist diagnoses the patient as the treatment is in progress.
