This month, Paradis Plage Surf, Yoga & Spa in Taghazout, approx a 45 minutes' drive from Agadir in Maroc. Loes enjoyed a week's holiday in January 2024. Located on a stunning five kilometer sandy beach in a serene area north of Agadir, Paradis Plage is a peaceful escape from the bustling crowds of mass tourism. This laid-back resort combines surf, yoga, and spa facilities with a modern Moroccan flair. Surrounded by the beach and sea, you'll be treated to the calming and rhythmic sound of the waves as your natural backdrop. You your relaxation with the resort's relaxed surfer-style atmosphere, acclaimed yoga sessions, Moroccan EcoSpa, and a variety of fitness activities paired with organic cuisine.
I had a wonderful time at Paradis Plage, a stunning resort nestled in a quaint village north of Agadir. My visit, in January, was blessed with unexpectedly warm weather, a pleasant surprise compared to the typical mild temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius, it got even to 25 degrees! The resort caters to a diverse crowd; while younger guests flock for surf lessons, older visitors are drawn to the yoga classes and spa facilities, creating a vibrant mix of ages. Despite missing out on the yoga due to my cold, I heard happy reviews about the classes offered throughout the day. However, I did indulge in the spa treatments, which were truly rejuvenating. The hotel boasts a spacious pool with just the right temperature, and the beach area offers comfortable seating and a charming beach tent serving delectable snacks and refreshing drinks. What's more, the absence of music allows the soothing sound of crashing waves to prevail. The staff at Paradis Plage are exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable stay for every guest.
The breakfast buffet was impressive, featuring a variety of options like coffee, Moroccan tea, warm Moroccan delicacies, French pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, omelets, and Moroccan pancakes. The hotel offers three restaurants, with restaurant 27 standing out for its talented chef. It's a great place for solo travelers or those seeking social interaction, with nightly bonfires offering a chance to mingle with other guests. Adjacent to the hotel is a fish market and small stalls where you can enjoy affordable, freshly grilled fish, particularly recommended is restaurant Happy Calamar. For flights, I suggest flying via Marrakech and spending a night there both on the outbound and return trips to ease the journey.
For the flight connection, I suggest flying through Marrakech and spending a night there both on the way there and back. It lightens the travel load significantly. The Supratours luxury bus (around €30 one way) takes about four hours between Agadir and Marrakech. You can arrange for a hotel taxi to pick you up or drop you off at the bus station in Agadir. I arrived in Marrakech in the late afternoon, enjoyed a pleasant evening, and had another wonderful day there. Then, in the evening, I flew back to Amsterdam with Transavia in just 3 hours and 20 minutes. Overall, highly recommended!
