Yogaweekend in the Netherlands

June 21, 2026

On 21 June, the world celebrates International Yoga Day, a day that reminds us that wellbeing is not a luxury, but a choice. And what better choice could there be than a fully hosted yoga weekend, tucked away in nature or just a short stroll from the sea?

Yoga is more than movement. It is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply and become fully present for a moment. That is why at Puurenkuur we offer yoga weekends at three unique locations across the Netherlands. Each with its own character, each offering first class wellness facilities, and each possessing something difficult to describe: that calming, almost quiet quality you only find when you truly step away from everyday life.

The longest day of the year also marks International Yoga Day. What could be more fitting than celebrating that day, or the entire weekend, by booking a yoga retreat at a special location in the Netherlands?

In this blog post:

Discover our three locations and find out why one of these places might be exactly the right choice for you

Badhotel Domburg

Domburg has not been awarded its official status as a therapeutic seaside resort without reason. The four star Badhotel is just a five minute walk from a wide sandy beach, surrounded by dunes and centuries old woodland. After your yoga session, you simply step outside and let the fresh sea air do the rest.

The 525 m² spa features a heated indoor pool, infrared and salt saunas, a Turkish steam bath, a panoramic sauna, an outdoor patio with jacuzzi and a calming hay room. Meals are served in Restaurant Zee & Land, with a menu inspired by the surrounding landscape. And breakfast? An extensive buffet, with the option of a glass of prosecco.

Landgoed de Wilmersberg

In the 1920s, a Twente textile family built their country retreat here, welcoming guests with hot chocolate and pancakes. That same warmth and hospitality still lives on today. Yoga sessions overlooking meadows where cows and sheep graze, a lounge with an open fireplace, and a kitchen that elevates vegetarian cuisine to the level of haute cuisine.

The WellnessBoutique offers an indoor swimming pool with jet stream, whirlpool, Turkish steam bath, Finnish and infrared saunas, plunge pool and ice showers. The chef prepares dishes using as many locally sourced ingredients as possible, and the six course menu comes highly recommended. On a clear evening, step outside and enjoy a brilliant star filled sky above Twente.

Thermen Bad Nieuweschans

For more than 40 years, Thermen Bad Nieuweschans has been the place to go for those looking to truly restore and recharge. The resort is set within a secluded ten hectare landscape park, close to Groningen and the German border. After group yoga sessions, you can walk straight to the mineral baths in your robe, as the hotel and thermal facilities are fully connected.

The thermal spa offers four different mineral baths, including an indoor magnesium rich bath and a warm saltwater park bath, twelve themed saunas and steam rooms, a beauty centre and several restaurants. The retreat team hosts daily sauna rituals, guided meditations and sound healing sessions. The digital detox policy is simple: phones stay in your room, allowing your focus to return to yourself.
