Ayurveda stands for ‘science of life’. Ayurveda is thousands of years old and is a holistic health philosophy. This mother of all therapies is all about balancing mind, body and soul by seeking out the core of a health issue rather than simply treating the symptoms. An Ayurveda cure is suitable for anyone – whatever their goal. Relax with yoga and meditation classes that form part of the programme, alongside an individualised cure programme devised following a check-up with your Ayurveda practitioner. Each day, you will experience different Ayurveda treatments, massages and therapies.
An Ayurveda practitioner will tailor the programme entirely to your needs based on your dosha type, devising an individualised plan for re-establishing equilibrium. A traditional cure consists of an Ayurvedic diet including plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, occasionally chicken or fish, morning yoga and evening meditation, massages and herbal and steam baths.

An Ayurveda holiday is by no means restrictive! It can be a wonderful opportunity to combine luxury and health. You can enjoy delicious food throughout your trip and still lose weight. Some other welcome side effects include a clear mind, complete relaxation and more energy. The ayurvedic lifestyle also gives us greater insight into ourselves and the world around us.
Ayurveda is primarily a preventative treatment. An Ayurveda cure can rejuvenate your body and mind and have a life-prolonging effect. But Ayurveda also achieves great results for rheumatism, sleep issues, chronic fatigue, stress, high blood pressure, migraine, psoriasis or depression.
You can follow a rasayana cure (wellness Ayurveda: purely for relaxation), an intensive panchakarma cure (cleansing body and mind) or a medical Ayurveda cure (for the treatment of specific complaints or illnesses). Medical Ayurveda cures require a longer stay. We also recommend repeating the treatments and therapies.
During a cure in Sri Lanka you will receive between two and four treatments per day, such as head, body and synchronised massages and herbal and steam baths. The Ayurvedic method is gentle and based on natural treatments. This means that you will not experience any unwanted side effects. For more information on Ayurveda, click here.

The accommodation will often encompass a dedicated yoga space and offer a peaceful oasis where you can fully relax and unwind.
