Meet the Team

She was the one who came up with Puurenkuur, all those years ago. Makes sure she doesn’t turn ‘antique’ by doing an hour of kickboxing from time to time. A smidge impatient. Honest and Sincere. What you see is what you get. Friday nights = pizza diavola (“extra chilli, please”). Swears Thailand’s Kamalaya is bucket list material. With Quinta da Calma – surrounded by Portuguese nature – a close second. Wanted to live at the Efteling theme park as a kid. Now considers herself a citizen of the world. Morphs into a dancing queen when ABBA comes on. Dreams of running her own wellbeing hotel one day. But above all: an innovator at the forefront of wellness trends who will always choose quality and a good deal.

Best start to the day: coffee! Oats in soya yoghurt and blueberries is second best. Doesn’t have a favourite country, she is more of a world traveller. Is always looking for new destinations, even outside work time. Has been part of the team since 2012, and worked herself up to Manager Operations. A happy guest is her top priority! Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Garda in Italy is her absolute favorite. She is adventurous, a perfectionist and attentive. She loves to knit (we adore our tailor-made scarves for winter!) and she is an absolute talent for baking brownies (soft inside, crispy outside). And yes, we try to get her in the Dutch version of The Great British Bake Off. But above all: looks after a smooth operation and makes sure our guests can travel with peace of mind.

Guilty pleasure: pizza. “Extra garlic sauce, please!” Preferably of an evening. Though she won’t let that tinge the fun at work; collegiality is important to her. This world citizen has spent half of her life outside of the Netherlands. At the Taipei British School in Taiwan, she even won a coveted colouring-in competition for the best bookmarker. Closer to home, her favourite place is Euphoria Retreat due to its intimacy. Claudia is a curious Netflix-tiger and lover of craft beers. But above all: she is a loyal colleague and friendly staff member on whom all Puurenkuur clients can rely.

This Flemish lady is versatile. Pop, rock or classical, she likes them all. Just as much as the typical Flemish stew, chips and mayo. Regularly dreams about Park Igls in Austria: never has simple been so delicious! Reads thrillers. An hour to herself in the bathroom is heaven on earth. Is spontaneous [for a Belgian], funny [for a Belgian]… the edits are all her own. Optimistic, smiley people cheer her up. But above all: she is our ambassador in Belgium and advises our Belgian clients with enthusiasm and passion for Puurenkuur’s destinations. 

A former tree surgeon and loves trees. The older, the better. Forests revitalise him. Which is why he rates Finland and Germany as one of the best destinations. But closer to home, he enjoys walking along parts of the Pieterpad walking trail. He is much into computers nowadays. Has a special connection to China, thanks to his wife, Sissy. Is learning Chinese when he isn’t watching football. Loves the 3 Bs: beer, Bubbeltje and Baobei (the cats). Is open to change, but can be stubborn at times too. Missed out on a career as the Cookie monster, and compensates daily with biscuits. But above all: he makes sure the Puurenkuur website and reservation system are working perfectly, and the ICT at the office is running smoothly.

The undisputed dare devil of the team. Dives with manta rays and sharks for kicks. If the rays and sharks are out of town, she’ll recharge with a mango bowl instead. The sauna is where she likes to relax, with friends. If she has longer window, she’ll head to Mexico (“That country has it all”) or Thailand (where she met Somchai the dog at a sanctuary and instantly adopted him). Interesting fact: reads horror books and has a phobia of cotton wool balls... But above all: she dots all the ‘i’s, crosses all the ‘t’s and aspires for her holiday descriptions to instantly conjure up images of people’s dream holidays.
