Luxury at its highest, Six Senses Zighy Bay stands out with numerous facilities, unparalleled service, and delightful cuisine, making it an ideal resort for both those seeking a wellness retreat and holidaymakers.
Where you are going...
With mountains on one side and a bay with a white sand beach on the other, Six Senses Zighy Bay, situated near a fishing village on the northern peninsula of the Emirate of Oman, offers an ambiance akin to The Beach. The resort is approximately a 2-hour drive from Dubai airport.
Why you’ll love it...
The villas come with a private pool and personalized service from a private butler. With a diverse range of activities and high-quality wellness programs, the architecture crafted from natural materials like loam, bamboo, and wood enhances the experience. The welcoming staff, quick to know your name, the variety of restaurants, and the breathtaking setting collectively establish this 5-star hotel as a standout super-deluxe wellness destination.
The resort spa is an oasis for body and mind. Innovative and traditional holistic treatments are combined to facilitate calmness, health, fitness and relaxation. It offers special programs, including fitness, de-stress, detox, or weight-loss packages, while also providing an opportunity for guests to simply rest, recharge, and enjoy. The highly recommended 'Signature' treatment is described in one word: fantastic! Additionally, the spa offers therapies that provide a taste of the local Omani touch. The skilled wellness team includes therapists, occasionally complemented by visiting experts in specific areas. Lifestyle and nutritional advice is also available as needed. The spa encompasses nine treatment rooms, a gym (approximately 30m2), and two changing rooms (one for women and one for men), each featuring a Finnish sauna and steam room. The resort features four distinct restaurants, each offering unique culinary experiences. Spice Market hosts an extensive breakfast buffet and transforms into a charming evening venue for delectable Omani and Arabic specialties. Senses on the Edge, situated atop a mountain, not only provides breathtaking bay views but also serves a mouth-watering five- or seven-course menu with wines from the restaurant’s cellar (open three days a week; reservation required; no entry for children under seven; smart casual dress code). For a romantic experience, there's a weekly traditional Bedouin dinner on the beach with organic salads and oven-cooked lamb enjoyed on cushions and low couches. The Summerhouse and Zighy Bar offer light lunches, dinners, homemade ice creams, sorbets, mocktails, and cocktails with a view of the wadi (riverbed). If you're on a detox or fitness program, the chefs will pleasantly surprise you with personalized fruit and vegetable juices, raw food, and other light, mild detox or weight loss meals tailored to your treatment plan.

The resort has 82 villas. Each has its own private pool, a separate living room and bedroom area, a terrace with lounge sofa and two loungers. The villas are designed in the style of a traditional Omani village, incorporating abundant natural materials, and are equipped with modern amenities. These include a TV with DVD and music system, comprehensive tea and coffee-making facilities, a minibar, a separate wine minibar, air conditioning, and a safe. The bathrooms offer both indoor and outdoor showers, a bath, and a hairdryer.
We loved every minute of our stay at Zighy Bay. We had a beach pool villa which was incredibly spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. There was a pillow menu to choose from which was great and we were assigned a Guest Experience Manager for anything else we needed. The food was brilliant and the staff and chefs went out of their way to cater for me as a vegetarian. The resort lays on different nights at their Spice Market restaurant which keeps things interesting because it means the menu changes regularly. Indian night was a highlight! Breakfast was also great and we loved being able to order whatever we wanted to our private terrace as part of our half-board option.
Last but definitely not least, the staff were absolutely outstanding - nothing was too much trouble.
