Nestled among tropical plants and flowers, this delightful resort is in close proximity to a fishing village and offers breathtaking views of the sea. The convenience of Trivandrum airport is approximately a 40-minute drive away.

Nikki’s Nest has over 20 years of expertise in Ayurveda. Ayurveda, or the "science of life" believes health is the result of a balanced life with harmony between body, mind, spirit, and the environment. This is achieved by balancing the body's energy patterns, also called doshas. Each stay begins with a doctor’s consultation to determine your dosha and design a personal treatment plan. The resort offers 17 treatment rooms and a dedicated team of 25 therapists, usually you will be treated by the same therapist daily for consistency. Therapies use natural oils and powders produced in-house, free from metals and minerals. Daily yoga and meditation classes are part of the programme (not on Sundays). Weekly lectures on Ayurveda provide additional insight into the philosophy and lifestyle. Treatments usually last two hours per day, creating a balanced rhythm of healing and rest.

What’s on the Menu

The main restaurant serves vegetarian Ayurvedic cuisine tailored to each dosha type. To make it simple, a sign by each dish indicates the dosha type for which the food is suitable. Gluten-free and lactose-free meals are available on request. Solo travellers can join the community tables at Hibiscus, where phones are not allowed, encouraging conversation. At the second restaurant, Orchid, phones are permitted and fresh fish can be ordered à la carte for an extra charge. Cooking classes with the chef are free, and Nikki’s cookbook offers further inspiration with insights into medicinal herbs.

Good to know

The annual temple festival in January can be noisy and usually Nikki's Nest does not accept bookings during this time
The hotel is situated on a hill. Getting down to the beach from the resort is easy; getting back up there, on the other hand, is good training for your leg muscles and cardiovascular system
The hotel does not have a private beach, though a section of it is cordoned off for the hotel
Besides swimming in the pool, you can also swim in the sea. However, swimming in the sea here can be quite dangerous. There are two lifeguards on duty who regularly get people out of trouble. If you do insist on swimming in the sea, caution is required
There is a public road going through the resort, security and barricades have been set up to minimise the noise: one side has the reception, restaurant and some rooms. The other side is the ayurveda center, yoga hall and rooms.

Rooms

Nikki’s Nest offers 47 accommodations, divided into standard rooms, cottages, chalets, two Kerala House rooms, and the large family suite called The Nest. Rooms are built in Kerala style with natural materials and are spread across three sections of the hillside gardens. The first block houses the reception, pool, restaurants, standard rooms, and the largest suites. The second block contains the Ayurveda centre and a mix of rooms and chalets. The third block consists only of chalets for extra privacy. All rooms have a bed with mosquito net, ceiling fan, desk, safe, telephone, bathroom with shower and toilet, and a terrace or veranda. Air conditioning is available in selected rooms at an extra cost. Some units have direct sea view, while others are surrounded by tropical greenery.

Bij Nikki’s Nest kun je helemaal tot rust komen, terwijl je ook kunt kiezen om de drukte van het Indiase leven op te zoeken. Binnen Nikki’s Nest merk je daar nauwelijks iets van. De instelling van alle medewerkers is erop gericht de gasten een zo fijn mogelijk verblijf te verzorgen.

Panchakarma, 14 nights

Wat een prachtige plek en wat een bijzondere ervaring om bij Nikki’s Nest te verblijven. Alles wordt met zoveel zorg geregeld. We deden elke dag yoga en genoten van de dagelijkse massages en Ayurvedische behandelingen, begeleid door vogelgezang en het geluid van de zee. Het personeel is ongelooflijk vriendelijk. Het buffet van ontbijt tot avondeten is heel gevarieerd, met veel keuze, vers bereid en met zoveel liefde gemaakt. De tempel in de buurt is indrukwekkend om te zien. En ja, de geluiden rondom de tempel zijn er duidelijk, maar eerlijk gezegd gaf dat juist extra kleur en sfeer aan ons verblijf in India.
